About the Chorus

We are a "Show" chorus and a "Competiton" chorus. As a Show Chorus we perform a Spring Concert and then in November, we perform a "theme" show at the Gwinnett Performing Arts Center. Our Fall Show is always well attended and fun for the chorus as we provide an opportunity for some "theatrics" and always feature a top international medalist barbershop quartet as a headliner. This is a great opportunity for us to perform for our friends and family.

Chorus competition is also twice a year, in the spring and fall. We may travel to Chattanooga or Knoxville to compete against other Barbershop chorus hopefuls in our Dixie District convention and contest. Barbershop quartet competitons are also held at these events. Our own "State Line Grocery" quartet is currently ranked 3rd in international competition! You can visit the Dixie District web site for more information.

The Stone Mountain Chorus

In January 2005 our chorus proudly welcomed Drew McMillan as chorus director. Drew has served as director of the Columbia SC chapter and as assistant director of SMC. He brings impressive quartet experience having sung bass in "The Sound Affects," "Svelte Brothers," 1995 Dixie District Quartet Champs and currently "State Line Grocery," 2003 Dixie District Champions and current International finalists! A graduate of the University of South Carolina, Drew made his local debut with The Atlanta Opera in 1995 and continues to perform in musical theater, opera and operetta roles. He has served as an apprentice for the Sarasota Opera and musical director for theater companies, including Theater in the Square and The Art Place. Drew teaches both voice and piano and lives in Kennesaw with wife and daughter. Assistant Directors include William Poole, Tim Brooks, and Larry Crabb.
